Practical Work #2 – Discourse Theory
In this situation, Claire and Kirk are on
their way to visit Allan, their friend. While Kirk is at the wheel, Claire is
phoning Allan:
C : Help! We´re lost!
A: Where are you?
C: I don´t know. There´s a supermarket and a river.
A: Oh, I think I know where you are… Can you see a bridge?
C: Yes.
A: Ok, well go across the bridge and turn right.
C: Turn right? How odd!
A: Yeah, may sound… Now, can you see some trees on the left?
C: I think so. What, in front of a bar?
A: No! In front of the grocer´s.
C: I see… Yes!
A: That´s it. You´ll see my house on the left. Well done, you´re
here!
